Nov 15, Your going to need a 18mm thru 21mm wrench's and sockets, remove the brake caliper,rotor, your have to remove the tension strut from the knuckle,strut from the lower control arm,lower control arm from the knuckle. your going to have to use a jack under the knuckle to hold it so when you bust loose the knuckle from the lower control arm you can hold it while you remove the bolt that hold the strut.
If the control arm bushings are worn, the result will be an annoying squeak when the car goes over bumps. In this case, the car can be driven. But if the bushings wear out considerably, metal-on-metal contact may occur and cause further suspension damage and inconsistent handling.
Once the press has begun the bushing will stay straight.
The upper control arm mounts to the chassis with a cam bolt assembly. Once removed, you can place the control arm on a vise and remove the bushings using a bushing service tool (see Resources). When installing the new bushings, do not use any lubricant but make sure the flange on the bushing end seats properly on the arm bore.
